Douglas Adams's cult hit on the stage.

THE original radio cast of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are being reunited on stage.

Tickets go on sale at 1pm today for the production, which is touring to the Liverpool Empire for two nights in June.

Douglas Adams's science fiction comedy became a cult hit after it was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1978.

Adapted and directed by Dirk Maggs, the stage-based radio show will star the original cast - Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, the human narrowly saved from being demolished along with the whole of planet Earth; Geoff McGivern as hitchhiking alien Ford Prefect; Susan Sheridan as love interest Trillian; Mark Wing-Davy as two-headed Zaphod Beeblebrox and the voice of Stephen Moore as Marvin the paranoid android. A VIP guest will take the role of theVoice of The Book, originally voiced by the late Peter Jones.

Each event will be recorded and available to download afterwards. * THE Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy Radio Show - Live! is at the Liverpool Empire on June 18 and 19.
