Double Diamond shows strength.

Double Diamond English Ale, a product of the Ind Coope brewery in Burton-on-Trent, England, has completed a very successful year, according to its American agent, Associated Importers.

Ken Russell, Double Diamond brand manager, was elated. "The brand, which during its history had been acclaimed as England's number-one selling ale, performed excellently last year in the United States and I'm very happy to say it's running ahead of projections this year as well.

"Our prime objective was to expand our keg business and we have been quite successful in getting our draught accounts nationally up from just a few hundred to close to 1,000 during the past year," Russell continued. "I believe Double Diamond caters to a very special segment of the beer trade that enjoys a brew with character. A sort of back lash from some of the lighter, blander beers one finds today."
