Dorset Police renew contract with MLL Telecom for microwave radio WAN.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-1 July 2008-Dorset Police renew contract with MLL Telecom for microwave radio WAN(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

MLL Telecom announced on 1 July that it has extended the contract to manage the fixed microwave wide area radio network it built for the Dorset, UK Police in 2003.

The initial five year contract has been extended for another two years.

The network provides data and voice communication to the majority of police stations in the mainly rural county of Dorset. More than 30 licensed point-to-point wireless links form the network, giving the Dorset Police 24 hour access to mission critical systems.

The IT Manager for Dorset Police, Steve White, said that since the network had run with high availability over the last five years it was a natural choice for the Police to extend the contract.
