In addition to the terminology, cross references, and definitions, this abridged format contains a pronunciation guide, abbreviation listings, and medical terminology combining forms. It also includes current, up-to-date pharmaceutical terms and drugs marketed in the United States. There also are 16 color-plates which highlight the human body structures and functions, as well as tables with listings of arteries, bones, human herpes viruses, human immunoglobulins, muscles, nerves, fetal positions, and veins. Temperature conversions, the metric system, and weights and measures also are included in this dictionary.
