Don Brookfield, Sr.
Don Brookfield, Sr., founder of Brookfield Engineering Laboratories, Inc., passed away on May 24, 2004.Mr. Brookfield graduated from MIT with a degree in electrochemical engineering. He, along with his father Gordon and brother Bernard, founded Brookfield Engineering Laboratories, Inc. In 1934, they invented and sold the first Brookfield Dial Reading Synchro-Electric Viscometer, an instrument that became the standard for viscosity measurement.
Mr. Brookfield is survived by his sons, David and Donald, Jr. In 1998 David was named president of the company and Donald was named executive vice president.
