Don't let women suffer; You Say Email:letters@liverpoolecho.co.uk.

ALL politicians pander to their constituents at election time, but President Karzai's pandering to the Shia clerics takes electioneering to a new low.

Yet selling women out should come as little surprise given this was the man who said: "Remember, the last king of Afghanistan who tried to give rights to women ended up dead."

The Taliban would be proud of Karzai who passed a law that in effect legalises marital rape.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Wilberforce, it's important to remember that Africa was a continent where to be born male was to be dealt a hor-rendousldifficult card.
