Don't let taxi drivers intimidate us all!

The letter 'Taxi Let Down' (GDN, March 23) left me completely gob smacked. The law is clear and the taxi drivers know it. If the meter is not on you don't pay anything. If you get a demand to pay more use your mobile and call the taxi police. The number is with the cab.

I don't blame the cab drivers. I blame the public for allowing themselves to be intimidated and the so-called journalists from foreign lands who appear to have been a pair of wimps for paying the extra BD5. The government has done a lot but sometimes the regular Joe Bloggs in the street has to do his bit as well.

Don't let yourself be intimidated, just watch them scarper as you take the cab number and dial police.

John
