Don't forget the veg; HOW PRINCE CHARLES TAKES HIS OWN ORGANIC GREENS ON HOLIDAY... TO SCOTLAND.
PRINCE Charles loves his Midland-grown organic vegetables so much he's having them delivered 500 MILES to his second home in Scotland!
The Sunday Mercury has learned that the Royal takes his own greens with him from Highgrove in Gloucestershire when he leaves to Balmoral.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman would only say: 'The Prince IS rather fond of his organic veg.'
Another Royal source said: 'It has been known for the Prince to take an array of organic vegetables, grown on his Highgrove estate, when he visits Balmoral.
'However, he is certainly not averse to sampling some of the local organic produce.'
A second insider has suggested that Prince Charles has a special delivery of the veg each week while staying at his late grandmother's home.
It is claimed that his staff make the 1,000-mile round trip from Highgrove to Balmoral in a gas-guzzling Range Rover with his prized produce.
It is also rumoured that he needs two articulated lorries to transport his luggage for his month-long summer break on Deeside.
The annual cost of the veg and luggage runs are believe to be at least pounds 10,000 - giving more ammunition to critics who accuse the Royals of leading extravagant lifestyles.
And it will infuriate Scottish farmers and suppliers who regard the area as being Scotland's larder.
The Royal source added: 'Charles goes on about petrol-burning destroying the planet. How much are these vehicles burning?'
The Prince and his partner, Camilla Parker Bowles, will spend all of August at Balmoral.
In 1991, Charles shocked locals by bringing his own Highgrove veg when he arrived to sample crofting life on the Isle of Berneray.
