Domestic bag check-in at New York-JFK altered by Delta Air Lines.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has announced that it will require domestic customers beginning their journey at its New York-JFK hub to check their baggage a minimum of 45 minutes prior to departure time.

The change applies to customers travelling on Delta, Delta Connection carrier and codeshare flights operated by Delta, effective 15 October.

The airline said that domestic customers not checking bags can continue to check in with a Delta agent or via a self-service kiosk 30 minutes prior to departure. If travellers miss the 45-minute check-in window, kiosks will automatically notify them of the baggage policy change at check in.

Customers travelling internationally are still required to check their bags 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
