Dollar trades at upper 91 yen in early Tokyo deals.

TOKYO, Feb. 22 Kyodo

The U.S. dollar traded in the upper 91 yen range early Monday in Tokyo, slightly up from its late Friday quotes in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 91.62-64 yen against 91.47-57 yen in New York and 91.95-96 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.

The euro traded at $1.3629-3631 and 124.87-91 yen versus

$1.3613-3623 and 124.56-66 yen in New York and $1.3474-3475 and 123.90-94 yen in Tokyo late Friday.

In New York on Friday, selling of the dollar to buy back the yen took the upper hand as investors' expectations of a rise in the U.S. currency's yield subsided after fears of inflation receded in the United States, market analysts said.
