Dollar trades at lower 121 yen level in early Tokyo deals.

TOKYO, May 21 Kyodo

The U.S. dollar traded at the lower 121 yen level early Monday in Tokyo, little changed from its levels late Friday in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 121.13-18 yen, compared with Friday's 5 p.m. quotes of 121.07-17 yen in New York and 121.29-31 yen in Tokyo.

The euro traded at $1.3518-3523 and 163.78-83 yen, against

$1.3503-3513 and 163.57-67 yen in New York and $1.3499-3501 and 163.74-78 yen in Tokyo.

China announced Friday it will widen the daily trading limit for the yuan against the dollar, effective Monday, and the move triggered purchases of the yen and other Asian currencies in New York trading, traders said.
