Doing Mathematics: an Introduction to Proofs and Problem Solving, (2d ed).

Doing mathematics; an introduction to proofs and problem solving, 2d ed.

Galovich, Steven.

Brooks/Cole Publishing

307 pages

Galovich (mathematics, Lake Forest College) presents an introductory- level college textbook which combines discussion of proof techniques, problem solving methods, and the understanding of mathematical ideas with an exposition of basic mathematical topics that students will need for more advanced work in high-level college mathematics courses. The second edition is an amalgam, with many modifications, of the author's earlier works, Doing Mathematics (Saunders, 1993) and Introduction to Mathematical Structures (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1989).
