Doggone green park.

Going green has gone to the dogs! I recently visited Jackass Acres, the nation's first totally-green dog park, located in north Phoenix.

Built entirely from recycled and used materials, Jackass Acres is friendly to pets, people and the environment. Tables, chairs and benches have been carved from fallen trees. The National Football League donated turf. A local artist donated animal sculptures made from old auto parts. Because rain is scarce in Phoenix, the park has desert landscaping and drought-resistant plants. The park's lighting is even solar powered! An old TV antenna holds the American flag. Biodegradable poop bags are available to pick up pet waste. Park operators haven't yet found a market for dog poop--but they're looking!
