Dog owners to blame; You Say.

HESITATING to give vent to the anger and frustration of many Sefton Park regulars, regarding unleashed dogs attacking a lone cob and his six young, after witnessing the heroic efforts of one man (Sean) who didn't hesitate, I've succumbed.

After contacting the city council, the feeling we were both left with was one of resignation. Taking the birds into sanctuary would be the only option.

This being exercised once the parent bird has either been killed - as was its mate recently - or has died from stress.

Only a certain type of dog will make a bee-line across the lake to these birds, and after watching such an event take place - after imploring the dog owner of the likely scenario - this man swam to the distressed birds rescue and brought both dogs out himself.

The dogs are hardly to blame. Only a certain type of dog owner.
