Dock Street Amber takes Dutch award.

At one of the world's renowned brewing centers, Philadelphia's Dock Street Amber was recently awarded the international gold medal from Monde Selection in Amsterdam.

The award was presented to Jeffrey Ware and Rosemarie Certo, owners of Dock Street Brewing Co., at a special awards ceremony on September 23.

Monde Selection was founded in 1961 in Brussels, Belgium, with the objective of selecting and honoring the top products in different food and beverage categories from producers all over the world.

"We are especially delighted that we, an American microbrewer, have won a gold medal for our Amber beer in Europe," Ware commented when he accepted the Monde Selection award. "When I first started learning about beer, I spent a lot of time studying the great beers and brewing techniques of Europe's finest brewers. The Monde Selection gold medal is certainly one of the highest compliments that a brewer could receive."
