Doc dies in jet ski tragedy.

A WEALTHY British doctor holidaying in Australia was killed yesterday as he took his wife on a jet ski ride.

Sridhar Shekar, 31, was believed to be riding a jet ski for the first time when he crashed into a moored boat's anchor chain.

He was catapulted on to a sandbank with fatal head injuries and a broken pelvis.

His GP wife Divya, 32, battled in vain to resuscitate him. She had minor injuries.

Moments before the crash at Southport Broadwater, in Queensland, the couple were told they were going too close to the moored boat.

The jet ski hire firm said: "He was warned off. Then he drove straight into it."

Dr Shekar, said by neighbours to be "immensely rich", worked for Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust. He lived with his wife in Meanwood, Leeds.
