Do you remember ?
IT is almost 20 years since Manchester girl group Cleopatra burst onto the music scene.
Sisters Cleo, Zainam and Yonah Higgins came straight into the charts at No3 with their first single Cleopatra's Theme in 1998. Their debut album, Comin' Atcha!, reached No 20 in the UK Charts.
The band were also successful in the US. After performing at the Brit Awards in 1999 and receiving both Brit Award and Mobo nominations, Cleopatra were signed to Madonna's Maverick label.
Cleopatra supported the Spice Girls at Wembley Arena as part of their sell-out Spiceworld tour. The group, pictured below, also had their own special 'Cleopatra in Concert' broadcast on the Disney Channel as well as their own sitcom on CITV.
The success of the band was shortlived as they never got the opportunity to release their second album in the UK. The single Come and Get Me charted lower than expected, reaching No. 29. The band parted ways with their record label in 2001.
Cleo pursued a solo career without much success whilst Zainam and Yonah have largely stayed out of the limelight. The sisters reunited in 2009 for the TV show Pop Goes The Band, broadcast on Living TV.
Cleo was featured on The TV Show The Voice in 2013. She was mentored by Will.I.Am but failed to make the final rounds of the show. She has since performed across Europe in a production of Thriller The Musical.
