ST HELENS: Merseyside police in St Helens are inviting people who live and work in the town centre to have their say on the issues that affect their lives.

If you live or work in the town centre area and would like to play your part in identifying and resolving local issues, the meeting is at 7pm on Wednesday at United Reform Church, King Street, St Helens.

ST HELENS: St Helens Council's Strategic Grants Programme for 2008/09 is now open for applications.

There are four grant programmes - Activity Grants, which are available throughout the year and Core Funding Support Grants, Small Core Funding Support Grants and Priority Themed Grants, the deadline for these is March 28.

Application packs are now available and can be downloaded from communitygrants@sthelens.gov.uk or hard copies are available from Donna Hardiman, External Funding Officer, Neighbourhoods Team, 3rd Floor Wesley House, Corporation Street, St Helens WA10 1HF.

ST HELENS: Youngsters aged from seven to 13 are being invited to take part in an Easter cricket camp during the holidays.

Organised by St Helens Council's Cricket Development Group, it will take place at St Helens Cricket Club, Windieshaw Road from Wednesday, March 26 to Friday, March 28.

It will cost pounds 7.50 per day or pounds 20 for the full three days and will include two days of cricket coaching provided by fully gualified coaches and a world cup style competition on the final day.

AIGBURTH: A car boot sale will be held on Saturday from 10am to 2pm at St Charles Parish Club car park at the junction of Aigburth Road and Tramway Road. Cars are pounds 10 each (no trailers). To book ring 0151-427 1552. All proceeds to St Charles Primary school. Car boot sales are held on the fourth Saturday of every month.

ST HELENS: Residents will again have the opportunity to ask a question at the next meeting of St Helens council which takes place at 6.15pm on Wednesday, March 5 in the Reflections Suite, World of Glass, Chalon Way East, St Helens.
