Import house Hansco Technologies (Montvale, N.J.), whose product lines include Esco screw machines, LCA gantry-type MCs, K'MX Swiss-type turning centers, Willemin high-precision machining centers, and others, will now handle high-speed machining centers from Digma G.m.b.H. (Kirchheim/Teck, Germany). The machines, aimed at the moldmaking and EDM-electrode-cutting industries, use a polymer-concrete base with acceleration to 1.7g. Heidenhain controls have dynamic look-ahead capability.

Mazak Corp. (Florence, Ky.) has appointed Ricardo Sosa as general manager for Mexico and begun work on its 13,000-sq.-ft. tech center in Monterrey, Mexico. Five distributors are in place: Abastecimientos Tecnicos, Magnum Precision El Paso, CM de Queretaro, Luis Jiminez e Hijos, and CNC de Mexico.
