Business/Technology Editors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000

Into's Family-Entertainment Site Offers Consumers

On-Demand Access to Top-Selling Disney Interactive Titles

Disney Interactive and Into Networks today announced the creation of the Disney Interactive Channel on Into Networks' service, which will provide top-selling interactive entertainment products from Disney Interactive over Into Networks' broadband content delivery platform. This distinctive, branded content channel will give consumers real-time on-demand access to a wide range of Disney Interactive titles, which are based on the branded content of The Walt Disney Company, including such Walt Disney Pictures properties as Disney's Toy Story, Disney's The Lion King and Disney's Tarzan, among others.

The Disney Interactive Channel will feature a cross-section of titles from Disney Interactive's key segments of Games, Learning and Creativity. Included in the initial 12-title lineup are Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life Action Game; Disney's The Lion King Activity Center; and Disney's Winnie the Pooh Kindergarten. In addition to the games offered on this channel, consumers can enjoy the recent hit titles Disney's Magic Artist Studio (the winner of the 2000 Interactive Achievement Award for Best Children's Creativity Title) and Disney's Princess Fashion Boutique on a pay-for-play basis.

Into Networks has created an innovative technology platform that enables software to execute in real time over broadband networks. The platform introduces a flexible new business and consumer model for software, allowing users to try titles at no charge before they purchase, rent single titles for a few days, or subscribe to channels of content, such as the Disney Interactive Channel, on a monthly basis. This creates an exciting, new rich content experience for users while increasing revenues, and strengthening brand awareness and customer loyalty for software publishers and broadband service providers.

"The Disney Interactive software channel extends the reach of our content to consumers who have already seen the value of broadband Internet access and are now looking for branded, mainstream rich content," said Jan Smith, president, Disney Interactive.

Today, Into Networks' content delivery platform reaches more than 500,000 high-speed subscribers, offering an unparalleled on-demand software experience. The company is working with leading cable and DSL providers including Road Runner, MediaOne/AT&T, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Excite@Home, NorthPoint and U S WEST to deliver the software-on-demand service.

"We are excited that Disney has chosen to be the first company to leverage the Into Networks platform and our growing installed base to offer its own branded channel of broadband content," said Vincent Grosso, CEO of Into Networks. "Families will be able to enjoy great Disney content such as Disney's Magic Artist Studio and Disney's Winnie the Pooh with the click of a mouse - no pun intended. Software-on-demand provides an incredibly exciting experience for users."
