Discovery U.S. Hispanic portfolio has highest ratings

Discovery U.S. Hispanic, a division of Discovery Communications, recently announced 2015 audience figures, reporting the highest-rated year for its portfolio of networks for the second consecutive year.

According to Nielsen data, Discovery's U.S. Hispanic channels grew by 4 percent from the previous year in the core demo of adults 18-49 during primetime, confirming the popularity of Discovery en Espa[+ or -]ol and Discovery Familia among Hispanic viewers in the United States.

Boosted by the success of series such as Texas Trocas, Mexic[sz]nicos, Alaska: La oltima Frontera, and Supervivencia al Desnudo, Discovery en Espa[+ or -]ol attained high rankings throughout the year closing 2015 as number one on Thursday nights "Jueves de Aventura" among Spanish-language pay-TV networks for 18-49 and number two on Mondays "Lunes de Motores" among 18 to 49 -years-olds.

Discovery Familia registered its fourth year of consecutive growth, achieving double-digit increases among 18-49 (up 40 percent) and 18-49 (up 44 percent).

Discovery en Espa[+ or -]ol also ranked as the number one non-sports Spanish language cable channel Monday-Friday in the 10 p.m. time slot among 18-49 and maintained its leadership as the number one Spanish-language pay-TV network in late prime time among 18-49. In 2015, Discovery en Espa[+ or -]ol also outperformed broadcast networks such as MundoMax and Azteca Monday-Sunday in prime time among 18-49. Discovery Familia achieved double-digit growth in all week nights year-on-year.
