Disabled car clamp row arrest.

Byline: By MAURICE FITZMAURICE

A CLAMPER was arrested yesterday after a row involving a disabled driver's car.

Witnesses said the official tried to clamp the vehicle at a Belfast city centre hotel.

The clamper was said to be arguing with the motorist when a taxi driver pulled up and intervened, snatching the wheel clamp.

One witness said: "All hell broke loose and the clamp was thrown to the side.

"Everyone was shouting and the poor disabled woman was in a terrible state after being told she was illegally parked."

A police spokesman said: "One man was arrested but later released pending further inquiries."
