Disable d squad joins the Big Ride.
The Durham Area Disability Leisure Group, which meets at Chester-le-Street, has more than 120 families on its books and arranges activities such as cycling, trampolining, quad bike racing and football.
The riders will collect sponsorship money for new bikes and equipment. Group coordinator Lynne Watson said: "The Durham Big and Little Rides are an ideal way of getting all of our families out on cycles."
Both the 25-mile Big Ride and the three-mile Little Ride will be held on Sunday, September 16, and will follow a circular course from County Hall, in Durham City.
The 25-mile race route goes as far as Annfield Plain and the Little Ride covers the city's Necklace Park.
Ed Tutty, of the organising team at Durham City Council, said: "We have always said the event should encourage the whole of the community."
