Award-winning chef

to oversee LCC dinner

Cory Schreiber, who won a James Beard Award in 1998 as a best chef in the Northwest, will direct the preparation of the four-course meal to be served by culinary and hospitality students Sept. 24 at the Lane Community College Foundation's first Harvest Dinner and Auction.

The fund-raiser will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, wine and hors d'oeuvres in the Center for Meeting and Learning, in the west wing of Building 19. The dinner and live auction is to start at 7:15 p.m.

The meal will start with a first course of wild mushroom toast with roasted garlic, caramelized onions and goat cheese, followed by a potato and clam soup. The entree is roasted pork loin with the chef's special apple sauce and vegetable barley.

A dessert of pears poached in maple syrup and warm walnut spice cake will complete the meal.

Tickets at $50 per person may be purchased by calling the LCC Foundation office at 463-5226.
