Dinamo Riga ready to pose problems for Neftekhimik.
ICE HOCKEY NEFTEKHIMIK v DINAMO RIGA 4pm THE KHL is back after the break for the Karjala Cup and returns with a bang as playoff hopefuls Neftekhimik and Dinamo Riga clash in Nizhnekamsk, writes Steve Davies.
Both teams are involved in frantic scraps for the playoffs in their respective conferences with the visiting Latvian outfit perhaps feeling slightly perkier after winning their previous two matches going into the international break.
Head coach Girts Ankipans had a team to pick up following their 7-3 rout at title challengers Jokerit and they've responded well heading into a pivotal threematch road trip.
For Neftekhimik, this will be their fifth straight game on their own ice yet they've won only one of their previous four in regulation time at the Neftekhim Arena.
Last time out they were pipped 3-2 by Salavat Yulaev in a badtempered affair in which 102 minutes worth of penalties were dished out. The Tatar side incurred 63 of those which is something head coach Andrei Nazarov will have to address.
One regulation win in their last six suggests that Neftekhimik can be opposed, even at home.
Recommendation Dinamo Riga 1pt 53-20 Betway
