Dina al-Wedidi performs at the BA Arts Center Tonight.

By: Egypt Today staff CAIRO - 24 August 2017: Egyptian singer Dina al-Wedidi will perform at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Arts Center on August 24. Inspired by her heritage, Wedidi was first introduced to oriental music after studying oriental languages at Cairo University. Soon after, she joined El Warsha Theater Troupe where she learned more about music before partaking into a solo career. Throughout her journey, Wedidi collaborated and worked with various artists such as Kamilya Jubran, Fathy Salama, and Gilberto Gil. She is currently working with The Nile Project, a musical ensemble that revives the different cultures of the Nile basin countries. Needless to say, Wedidi performed at many different venues in the past both in Egypt and abroad including Al Azhar Park, Cairo Opera House, Misr Opera House, D-CAF Festival and Islington Assembly Hall amongst many others.
