The specialists in automated food diagnostics, Diffchamb, tel:0162
362 6220, will be exhibiting both their own Transia Elisamatic II,
pathogen screening systems and the Biacore Q analyzer for vitamins at
Foodtech 2000 this October. The Biacore Q biosensor technology allows
automated, label-free measurements of coloured, turbid or opaque
solutions. Diffchamb and Biacore have sponsored a short meeting at
Foodtech where the Leatherhead Food RA will present the results of their
evaluation of the Biacore Q analyzer for the measurement of vitamins in
foods. This study was designed to assess the feasibility of the
biosensor immunoassay system for the routine measurement of vitamin B12,
Biotin and Folate in a range of food types. These are the first of a
range of Biacore assays available as kits for routine food analysis.
Other applications are being developed for release over the next few
months and will include antibiotic residues and myotoxins.
