Diebold Nixdorf (NYSE:DBD) (FRA:WIN), a connected commerce company, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Murat Ekinci as chief information officer (CIO).

In his new role, Ekinci will be responsible for leading and overseeing Diebold Nixdorf's corporate information technology (IT) organisation. He will report to Dr Juergen Wunram, chief operating officer.

Most recently, Ekinci served as executive vice president for managed services at Freudenberg IT. Prior to that, Ekinci held various management positions with T-Systems, a German global IT services and consulting company.

Diebold Nixdorf provides automatic teller machines, financial and point of sale (POS) services. The company also offers electronic card systems, monitoring software, fraud control, retail cash cycle management and electronic shelf labeling services.
