Di Matteo ready to get ugly against Potters.
Byline: Chris LepkowskiROBERTO Di Matteo is ready to get 'ugly' when his Albion side take on Stoke City tomorrow.
The Baggies will be aiming to end a run of poor form, after taking just one point from their last four games.
Albion have a poor record against the Potters, having only one League game in their last 27 meetings - while Stoke have won 17 times.
But the Italian is unconcerned with the past and only focusing on ending his side's recent form.
Stoke are known for their direct and physical style of play, which Di Matteo is determined to have his side welldrilled for.
"I don't want my team to be pretty," he said. "I want my team to win games.
"That's the ultimate aim and result. If I need to win by playing a certain way then that's not a problem for me.
"I want to win games. If we have to be ugly to win on Saturday, then we will play ugly. "We have improved in that respect. Last season we lost seven games in the Championship out of 46. This season, we haven't conceded many goals from set-pieces so we're getting better."
Hull boss Nigel Pearson has confirmed asking about taking Roman Bednar on loan.
The Baggies have made it clear that either he or Ishmael Miller will only be granted a loan exit once all strikers are fit - Miller is still nursing an abdominal injury.
