A PAEDOPHILE who murdered a vulnerable girl will not reveal where he buried her body.

Robert Ewing was jailed for at least 33 years yesterday for killing Paige Chivers to stop her telling police how he had abused her.

A court heard the 15-year-old was troubled after the death of her mother and her father's battle with booze and she was preyed on by Ewing, who let teenage girls drink and take drugs in his flat.

He had previously done time for gross indecency and indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

When Paige threatened to report his sex abuse, he murdered her. Ewing, 60, was found guilty after a trial and sentenced yesterday at Preston Crown Court, Lancashire.

Judge Mr Justice Jeremy Baker said he had carried out a "carefully planned and executed murder" to avoid returning to jail.

Labelling Ewing "devious", he said the circumstances of Paige's death may never be known.

Three tiny spots of her blood were found in Ewing's flat in Blackpool but she has not been seen since August 2007.

Gareth Dewhurst, 46, who helped Ewing to dispose of the body, was jailed for seven years.

Detective Superintendent Andy Webster said: "We remain steadfast in our efforts to identify what they did with Paige's body. I appeal to them to tell us and allow her family to lay her to rest with dignity."
