Contract Awarded for Design and construction of a Littoral Combat Ship Training Facility at Naval Base San Diego
The work to be performed provides for renovating a portion of an existing warehouse building to provide a centralized training facility to house the Littoral Combat Ship simulators supporting the new Navy platforms coming to Naval Base San Diego. The contract also contains one unexercised option and two planned modifications, which if exercised would increase cumulative contract value to $43,472,004. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by October 2015. Fiscal 2009, 2011, and 2013 military construction, Navy contract funds in the amount of $36,900,000 are obligated on this award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with ten proposals received.
