Derry star Delaney slams FAI 'hypocrites'.
CLIVE DELANEY has accusedtheFAI of hypocrisy after they appealed to FIFA for "fair play".
The Derry City player claims the Republic's governing body - who pleaded for justice over theirWorld Cup elimination -have not shown any sense of fair play to City's players after their club went into administration.
The Ulster club are likely to be back in the League of Ireland's First Division next season despite having been kicked out of the top flight for financial irregularities, including second contracts.
Delaney was the one player whose contract was all above board, and yet he has gone 13 weeks without wages. And the ex-West Ham defender has called on the FAI to use the prize money withheld from the club to pay their stricken players.
"I have been living off savings for the past three months and they're virtually gone now," said Delaney.
"Christmas is going to be a disaster - but it's been a disaster for a while. I'm going back to live with my parents now. It's pathetic.
"It makes me laugh when I see the FAI appealing to their governing body, FIFA, for fair playandthe integrity of the footballing family.
"They are my governing body and they don't see fit to help me out. It's hypocritical to go on about their treatment and have this on their own doorstep."
