Derry's son sued for pounds 750k.

Byline: JUSTIINE SMITH

THE disgraced son of former Lord Chancellor Derry Irvine has been told to pay pounds 750,000 damages to an American love rival he was jailed for stalking.

Karel Eric Taska, 20, sued recovering drug addict Alastair Irvine, 26, in California for emotional distress.

He was subjected to a campaign of terror, which included an acid attack on his truck, but fears he will never see the money because Irvine is now living on benefits in Bath.

Mr Taska's lawyers are now investigating whether they can sue his millionaire father for the money.

Irvine, who was not in Orange County Court after being deported, started his campaign of harassment when he was spurned by Mr Taska's girlfriend, Nicole Healey, 19.

He became obsessed after meeting her in a tanning salon in the US, where he was being treated for his addiction.

Irvine, who served six months of a 16-month prison sentence, pestered her with flowers then turned on Mr Taska.
