Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has nominated:Rear Adm. Justin D. McCarthy, Supply Corps, for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and with assignment as director for Material Readiness and Logistics, N4, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. McCarthy is currently serving as commander, Naval Supply Systems Command/Chief of Supply Corps, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Capt. Peter M. Grant Ill. has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral lower half. Grant is currently serving as deputy for Systems Engineering and Integration, Missile Defense Agency, Washington, D.C.
