"One of our goals this year in moving The SRI Conference from The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs to Denver was to showcase some of the leading sustainability and impact investing experts who live right in our own backyard," Steve Schueth, president of First Affirmative Financial Network and producer of The SRI Conference, said."This year's agenda reflects a greater focus on local people and organizations that are demonstrating a more responsible approach to business and investing-one that is geared toward shifting the paradigm and creating a truly sustainable future."

Among the key speeches, plenary sessions and breakout panels featuring Coloradans are the following:

Insights from Denver's Chief Sustainability Officer: Jerry Tinianow. As Denver's first Chief Sustainability Officer, Jerry Tinianow works to ensure that the critical resources upon which the City depends are available and affordable to everyone, now and in the future. He and his team implement a simple four-word agenda from the Mayor: "Scale, and Everybody Plays." They focus on large-scale projects and instill sustainability as a basic operating practice of every city agency regardless of what service it delivers. Before taking the position with the City of Denver, Mr. Tinianow was a national officer of both the Sierra Club and the National Audubon Society. He developed a LEED-Gold inner-city nature education center; produced the nation's first regional food system assessment and plan; created balanced growth plans for five contiguous watersheds; and won designation by the Sierra Club as a national "Environmental Hero."

Clean Energy: Policy and Opportunities in the New America . In the 21st century, our wealth of energy resources must be adapted to the challenges of sustainability. Very few Americans have a breadth of experience in this arena comparable to former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter and Doug Arent, Executive Director of the Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis at NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory). Governor Ritter is now the director of the Center for the New Energy Economy, Colorado State University.

Toward a National Impact Investing Marketplace. The team from the Impact Finance Center in Denver has mapped out a process where inventory, education, and activation of committed impact investors scales and replicates to improve returns, manage risk, and deepen impact. Presenters will include: Stephanie Gripne, executive director, Impact Finance Center and research fellow Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies at Daniels College of Business, University of Denver; Nicole Bagley, private foundation trustee and senior advisor, Impact Finance Center and Colorado Impact Days and Initiative; and John O'Halloran, senior vice president and institutional client advisor, U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Denver.
