Demand of firewood, coal increases in twin cities.

ISLAMABAD -- With the weather turning cold following recent rain, the demand for firewood has increased in various localities of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

A stall owner at G7 said that sale of firewood and coal has increased in the last few days.

He said coal is being sold at Rs 60 to 70 per kg while dry wood is selling at Rs 700 to 900 per 40 kilograms.

Meanwhile, a customer at a firewood shop said prices of firewood and coal have been increased by the traders. These prices also vary from locality to locality.

Mir Ali, a resident of G-13 said, firewood owners should decrease the prices to facilitate the masses.

A firewood stall owner at G-7 said, the demand for dry wood will increase with rise in cold.
