Delta Air Lines gains support of US politicians for China route.
Delta Air Lines has announced that it has gained the backing of the US House and Senate Aviation subcommittee chairs along with 44 airport directors, Governors and economic development officers and 24 mayors to start an Atlanta-Beijing route.
The airline has filed its statements of support with the US Department of Transportation along with its final arguments in its attempt to win approval for its Atlanta-Beijing proposal in the 2005-2006 US-China services case.
Delta Air Lines vice president of Government Affairs said that the level of support gained shows the importance and economic value of a link from the Southeast of the US with China.
