Delphi Builds Ignition Plant in Torreon, Mexico

FLINT, Mich., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Delphi Energy & Engine Management Systems has begun construction of an automotive ignition component manufacturing plant in Torreon, Mexico. The plant will share production of coil-near-plug systems with a Delphi plant in Anderson, Indiana. Production at Torreon is scheduled to begin in fall 1997. Delphi currently builds ignition systems and components for a worldwide customer base in plants in Anderson, Indiana; Piracicaba, Brazil; Taegu, Korea; Chihuahua, Mexico, and Seixal, Portugal.
