Deloitte & Touche Reveals Rankings for Minnesota Technology Fast 50.

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ --

Deloitte & Touche today announces the rankings for the fourth annual Minnesota Technology Fast 50. The rankings, based on noncompounded revenue growth from 1996 to 2000, range from 142% to 14,806%. The rankings are now posted on the web site, http://www.fast50.com , and all the winning companies are featured in a special supplement to the September 21 issue of CityBusiness and the October issue of Ventures (see list following).

Three companies were honored as Rising Stars, a category focused on companies who are likely to become the next generation of Fast 50 winners. All the criteria are the same as the Fast 50, but revenue growth is measured from 1998 to 2000. Each of the three Minnesota Rising Stars had growth of more than 450% (see list following).

"Average growth this year was higher than last year, despite tougher economic conditions, and we believe that Minnesota companies will again be well represented in the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 National Program," said Ron Hafner, Deloitte & Touche partner and Minnesota Technology Fast 50 program chair.

Fast Facts about the Fast 50 Winners

-- 951% average (noncompounded) revenue growth

Facts about the Minnesota Technology Fast 50

The Minnesota Technology Fast 50 honors companies headquartered in Minnesota who create or manufacture technology or technology-related products. The rankings are compiled by measuring noncompounded revenue growth over the five-year period of 1996 to 2000.

To be eligible for the Fast 50, a company must meet the following criteria:

-- Be headquartered in Minnesota

-- Have been in business for a minimum of five years (three years for

Rising Stars)

-- Have earned 1996 revenues (or 1998 for Rising Stars) of at least

$50,000

-- Produce technology, manufacture a technology-related product, use

unique technology in problem-solving, or devote a high percentage of

research efforts to the development of technology

The Technology Fast 50 is sponsored locally by Ventures, Faegre & Benson, LaBreche Murray Public Relations, and Bremer Financial Corporation, in association with the Minnesota High Tech Association and Minnesota Technology, Inc.

Nomination forms were mailed to potential nominees in April and also appeared in CityBusiness and Ventures magazine. Companies could also nominate themselves via the web site, http://www.fast50.com

Technology Fast 50 winners are automatically entered into the annual Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 awards program, which recognizes the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America. The Fast 500 ranking will be published in the November 26 issue of Forbes ASAP magazine as well as on the Fast 50 web site.
