I was delighted to find the most recent issue (July-August 2015) of Baseball Digest on a local newsstand. In reading it from cover to cover, I was happily reminded of my youth, my great interest in the all-American game, and of the monthly Baseball Digest in smaller format of years gone by.
I smiled broadly when I read the quote in Stuart Shea's article. Baseball's Golden Era: "To me, the golden era of baseball is when you were twelve years old." Yes, indeed! I really appreciated the human interest aspect of Susan Slusser's piece on Sam Fuld, which pointed out the obstacles he must face daily to playing professional baseball.
Keep the Digest coming! Fans, young and old alike, will find the game more interesting and memorable with copies in hand.
