Delay over diver body recovery; caves.

Byline: JOHN FALLON

IT will be early next week before the body of the Polish cave diver who was killed while on an expedition is recovered.

Artur Kozlowski, 33, died during a solo expedition near Gort in South Galway, on Monday.

His body was discovered on Tuesday by a colleague but it now looks like it will not be brought to the surface until early next week.

A team British experts who are working with the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation and gardai said it will take another few days before they can recover the body.

It has been moved around 400m from where it was discovered.

But there is at least another 400m to cover in the Pollonora cave before it reaches the surface.

Family members have travelled from Poland to the site at Kiltartan.

Supt Pat Murray of Gort yesterday paid tribute to the 50 ICRO volunteers.
