Delaware Investments Promotes Three to the Position of Senior Vice President, Regional Consultants.

Delaware Investments has promoted Scott Passias, Linda Shulz and Jay Whitaker to the position of senior vice president, regional consultant in the independent planning and insurance sales channel of the firm's distribution company.

The distribution company of Delaware Investments is Delaware Distributors, L.P.

Mr. Passias joined DDLP in November 1998 as vice president, regional consultant. As senior vice president, Mr. Passias is responsible for sales in the independent planning and insurance sales channel through financial advisers in Ohio and Kentucky.

Prior to coming to Delaware Investments, Mr. Passias was a sales consultant with Provident in Columbus, Ohio, where he was responsible for establishing relationships with producers at financial services organizations and developing selling concepts for disability and life insurance for both individuals and large groups.

Prior to joining Provident, Mr. Passias was a financial adviser with Baystate Financial Services in Boston, where he identified financial goals and formulated investment, insurance and retirement strategies as well as estate planning strategies for executives of small, medium and large corporations.

Mr. Passias is a graduate of Ohio State University and lives in Columbus, Ohio.

Ms. Shulz has more than 20 years of investment sales experience. She joined DDLP in 1996 as vice president, regional consultant. As senior vice president, Ms. Shulz is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with financial advisers in the independent planning and insurance sales channel in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania.

Prior to coming to Delaware, Ms. Shulz was senior regional vice president for PLM Securities in San Francisco. Earlier in her career, she was with Phoenix Leasing in San Rafael, CA., and with Berg Harmon in Seacaucus, NJ. She began her career at Impact Marketing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Ms. Shulz is a graduate of the University of Florida, Gainesville, and lives in Fredericksburg, VA.

Mr. Whitaker has been with DDLP since 1993, first as the manager of the internal sales staff and later as a wholesaler responsible for mutual fund sales in the bank channel in the Southeastern United States. As senior vice president, Mr. Whitaker is responsible for establishing relationships with financial advisers in the independent planning and insurance sales channel in Florida.

Prior to coming to Delaware, Mr. Whitaker was with Nike Securities, L.P. in New York, where he was responsible for sales of municipal and equity unit investment trusts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. Prior to the position at Nike, he was an investment broker at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. Before starting his career in financial services in 1983 at Van Kampen Merritt, Mr. Whitaker taught public high school grammar and science in the Dade County public schools system in Miami.

Mr. Whitaker is a graduate of Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. and lives in Odessa, Fla.
