Delamere Forest; Linmere, July 6-8.

DELAMERE Forest near Northwich provides the backdrop for this three nights of music with Will Young, Plan B and The Wombats playing in a natural amphitheatre set in a woodland clearing.

It's part of the Forestry Commission Live Music series of gigs, with income from ticket sales spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife.

Will Young will be supported by Nerina Pallot; Plan B by Ny and Kwabs, and The Wombats by All The Young.

In February 2002, Will Young came to national prominence by singing in and winning the ITV singing reality TV show Pop Idol, and went on to notch up Number One singles and albums, plus Brit Awards Rapper Plan B is also known for his soulful album The Defamation of Strickland Banks, plus he's just directed his first movie under his real name Ben Drew The Wombats' debut album Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation generated indie dancefloor smashes Kill The Director, Let's Dance To Joy Division, Backfire At The Disco and Moving To New York. The band's latest album release, This Modern Glitch has provided hits Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves), Jump into the Fog and Techno Fa.

A full licensed bar and a variety of hot food outlets are available, and picnics invited.

No campingis allowed.

Delamere station is on the Chester to Manchester line, 10 minutes walk. Big Green Coach (biggreencoach.co.uk) is running return buses from Chester. Parking on-site. Concert car parks open at 5pm.

The arena opens at 6pm, with live music starting at about 7.30pm and finishing about 10.30pm.
