Offers sandblasting equipment for texturing molds and rolls.


Provides hot-stamping machines and supplies. Standard machine sizes range from 1 x 3 in. to 12 x 16 in.; custom-built ones have a 24 x 36 in. imprint area in four-post design.

Roll-on hot-stamping machinery ranges from 5 to 30 in. wide with continuous and reciprocating conveyor tables. Standard line of vertical machinery can be custom fitted with power slide tables, rotary turntables, peripheral marking attachments, and automatic feeding systems.

Graphics division supplies complete hot-stamping/decorating systems. Machine models feature high-speed registered, continuous form-feed embossing and hot-stamping. Systems are available for label production from plastic or coated paper stock; automatic feeding, hole-punching, and perforating; single- or multicolor nomenclature; and consecutive serial-number hot-stamping.


Provides a full line of hot-stamping equipment, ranging from small, hand-operated units to 75-100 ton presses. Besides the vertical press line, lines of roll-on machines, peripheral printers and bottle inflation presses are also available. All equipment can be purchased completely tooled, tested, and ready to run.

Roll-on presses include a vertical roll-on press that can hold up to a 9-in.-long roller with the ability to decorate 360 degrees on cylinder-shaped parts in one step. The unique "Accu-Roll" press, designed for corner wrap and tapered parts to large flat objects, can roll on large heat transfers or foil with the elimination of air trappage. This pneumatic-powered press is available with a 5- to 12-in.-long silicone roller and a 15- to 36-in. horizontal stroke.

Model EMW-3-40 is a keyboard-operated tube-branding device for short runs, with an optional memory. Applications include PVC and shrinkable tubing. The 7800-B-40 is also keyboard operated and marks identification tags and other objects. Other products are model ACEP-1B and 3B branders.

System for in-mold coating of SMC incorporates a metering/injecting system for the coating material, hydraulic power unit, and a set of push-back cylinders for opening and leveling the press platen. The metering unit can pump material directly from storage tanks.


Hot-stamping presses from Franklin range from 1/2 to 60 tons (1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 6, 10, 15 tons) and feature company's "linear-wedge drive," said to produce high pressures with minimal air consumption and to compensate for part-to-part height variations. Specialties include embossing machines for floor coverings and floor tiles, embossing and finishing units for wall coverings, multistation rotogravure and finishing machines with in-line laminating and embossing features for wall coverings and automotive applications. Full line of accessory equipment and custom-designed equipment for specific needs is available.


A complete line of proprietary chemicals and associated equipment for plating of plastics is offered. Chemicals and equipment are utilized for semibulk, bulk and rackplating. Applications include automotive, appliance, plumbing goods and RFI/EMI shielding for electronics.


Manufactures hot-stamping and coding machinery and related supplies, including printing elements (e.g., brass and steel type, inserts, word blocks, type bars, masterplates, etchings, and rubber plates), inks, stamping foils, thinners, and cleaners. Applications include marking electronic components, fabric labels, and packaging. Some printers produce pressure-sensitive paper or fabric labels. Systems include manual printers, direct offset, and rotogravure machines. A full line of barcode printers, printer-applicators, laminators, and supplies are available. Company also makes overprinting machines for flexible film packaging, using "touch-dry" ink system.


Manufactures in-line offset printing systems for product identification and rotary hot-branding for identification of plastics, and large and small character, noncontact printing systems for in-line identification of plastic parts or web and extruded materials. A wide range of mounting arrangements, guide systems, fixtures and brackets is offered to simplify installation. A line of inks is also offered.


Semi-automatic and automatic flat-bed screen-printing equipment for decorating plastic sheets is available in sizes from 9 x 12 in. to 60 x 96 in. Manual printing tables can handle sizes from 22 x 30 in. to 60 x 120 in. Also available are uv-curing reactors for uv-curable inks on plastics and a line of dryers. Screen printing accessories are also sold.


All varieties of conductive coatings, spray, plating and electroforming equipment are offered for plating on plastics, electroforming of holograms, toy and doll decorative metallization, as well as EMI shielding. New methods have also made it possible to electroplate on virtually any nonconductor, offering design possibilities of metal on plastic, ceramics, wood, glass, wax and rubber. These combinations offer new strength-to-weight, electrical, insulating and flexibility characteristics with a virtually unlimited choice of shapes.


Offers equipment and materials for applying thermal-spray metallic coatings. Equipment includes wire-combustion equipment for spraying, electric-arc equipment for metallizing, ThermoSpray powder combustion unit, high velocity oxy-fuel system and gun, and a Plasma Spray device that uses a high-energy plasma to melt metal powders for coating applications. Company also offers water washer spray booths.


Company's primary product line is heat-transfer decals; however, it does engineer turnkey hot-stamping and heat-transfer systems.


Manufactures machinery and tooling for decorating rigid plastic parts and other rigid substrates. Equipment line includes precision pad printers for single-color and/or wet-on-wet multicolor pad transfer printing of fine details on irregular surfaces. Accessories such as steel and short-run plastic printing plates (cliches), transfer pads, and inks are also supplied.

Company also supplies a standard line of hot-stamping equipment using single-color foil and multicolor heat-transfer decals. The above units are supplied with single-station tooling, multiple-station via turntable or linear conveyor, and complete turnkey systems with automatic loading and unloading. Custom-built units are also manufactured.

Supplies for vacuum metallizing include tungsten filaments and aluminum and copper evaporants.


Offers industrial power spray washers, drying ovens, flow coaters, cure and bake ovens, and complete finishing systems, UV-curable flow coatings can be applied with the company's U-V Flo-Coater.


Company's embossers texture both HDPE and LDPE film in gauges from 0.7 to 4 mils. The in-line embosser with matched-steel embossing rolls is recommended for use in blown film extrusion lines, bag machines, or flexo printers. Cold embossing reportedly results in very high-quality texturing, particularly in HDPE.

Also available are embossers for blown film that use an engraved steel roll against a rubber backup roll. The process includes preheat, chill embossing, and post-cooling. The method is said to produce fine fabric texture, reduce surface reflectivity, and controlled stress distribution for personal-products film.


Self-contained in-mold coating system for SMC incorporates metering and pumping components for injection of liquid coating material. All the necessary hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical controls are supplied for operation of the coating process. All components are mounted on a single base, except for the press-connected items, including the injector head (built to a Morrell patent).

Included are material supply assemblies for single- or two-component coating. Each assembly is equipped with a feed pump and elevator, nitrogen blanket to keep out moisture (in the case of two-component systems), optional temperature control, and material low-level control. Metering and proportioning are controlled on hydraulics, which include a valve-assembly, manifold, and power unit with nitrogen accumulator. Electrical controls are typically controlled by programmable controllers.


Offers screen-printing equipment, supplies and inks.


Manufactures marking systems designed to become an integral part of molding, extruding or conveying lines, or die cutters. The compact systems can be installed on-line and operate at production speeds to reduce labor or necessity of other more costly, secondary marking methods such as labels, hand stampers, etc. Hot stamping, embossing, ink and dry ink systems are available, as well as supplies (foils, inks, type). Also available are off-line, standalone systems for semi-automatic or manual marking, imprinting and decorating. Imprint areas and machine speeds are available for most plastic applications--one character to 4 x 4 in. or larger and speeds up to 1000 imprints/minute.


Offers a complete range of roll-to-roll flexographic presses for use on flexible substrates.


Supplies processes, chemicals and equipment for electroless plating. Processes include complete systems for decorative plating, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.

Also manufactured are fully automated plating equipment systems: return-type automatic plating machines designed to handle high production and automatic pusher-type split-rail equipment for high-volume rack work are included. Modularized hoist systems capable of handling multiple programs are also available, along with a full line of rectifiers for full-range control. Effluent control systems with a full line of support equipment, engineering surveys, and assistance with regulatory agencies are also furnished.


Offers a complete range of pad-printing machines for decorating the simplest to the most complex plastic parts, as well as most other types of substrates such as metal and ceramics. Printers have from one- to six-color capability and are semi-automatic to fully automated systems with auto feeders and unloaders.

Company specializes in custom engineering decorating systems for specialized printing requirements and also supplies all accessories such as on- and off-line drying equipment, post-and pretreat propane flamers and high-frequency corona discharge treating units, as well as inks for various substrates, pads and print plates. Will also locate suitable decorators for companies not wishing to do in-house printing.

Distributes flexographic and central-impression presses from M.A.F. SpA of Italy for film and paper, ranging from 20 to 65 in. Up to eight colors can be printed at speeds to 1000 ft/min. Special machinery is available for in-line systems with bag makers or extruders. Special features include automatic impression release, automatic temperature control, combination push-pull drying systems and solid-state, d-c, variable-speed drives. Repeats are from 10 to 60 in. All presses are now modified for use with water-based inks. New computerized control of stack and C.I. presses allows fully automatic registration and control at full line speeds.


Makes screen printing equipment for rigid, semi-rigid and flexible materials.


The company's line includes two- and three-dimensional engraving machines, two computerized engraving systems, and a variety of accessories. All models of engravers can be converted for either engraving, diamond-drag marking, electrical marking, or acid etching by adding the proper marking or spindle unit. A floor stand with vertical feed-screw unit and two shelves is also available for most models. The Cence 1 is a computer-controlled engraving system intended for industrial applications. It combines state-of-the-art technology with ease of operation.


Offers a complete line of pad printers ranging from a small, manually operated single-color machine to fully automatic four-color printers with indexing conveyors. Printers can be used for medical parts, electronics, household appliances, and toys. Recent developments include machines equipped with programmable controllers for easier interfacing to automated handling systems, high-durability photopolymer plates and plate process equipment, uv-curable inks and uv-curing systems.


Manufactures a complete line of embossing machines ranging from 1 to 40 in. wide with manual and automatic controls. Machines feature a-c and d-c variable speed drives. Company also designs and manufactures back-up and engraved rollers.


Provides electrostatic liquid and powder finishing equipment for both automatic and manual applications. The electrostatic process reportedly reduces overspray, thus minimizing coatings waste, volatile organic compound (VOC) emmisions, as well as cleanup and hazardous waste disposal costs. Company has developed an installed base of automatic electrostatic Turbodisk (trademarked) and Torbobell (trademarked) systems, and manual electrostatic guns in the plastics finishing market.

Properly grounding of the part is required to optimize the electrostatic attraction, and is accomplished in several ways, including (but not limited to) the application of electrostatic prep coats or primers, the use of metal work holders, and the use of conductive additives in the molding process.

Recent developments in coatings chemistry have permitted the application of low-bake temperature powder coatings to plastic parts. These advances have allowed the plastics industry the benefits of powder coatings, such as higher performance finishes, elimination of hazardous waste, lower energy consumption, and lower EPA compliance costs.


Offers five decorating processes for 3D plastic containers: screen printing, offset, hot stamp, pad printing and labeling, and combination systems. Company represents OMSO (offset/screen printers) and Madag (pad and hot-stamp printers).


Offers embossers and hot imprinters for pipe, sheet, and profiles.


Offers semi- and fully automatic pad-transfer printing machines for marking and decorating curved, concave, convex, irregular, corrugated, and flat surfaces. Machines can print on almost all substrates. A patented inking system, said to be almost maintenance-free, enables operator to perform changeover rapidly. Image reproduction size can range from 2.5 x 2.5 in. to 6 x 12 in. Inks and accessories are also offered. All machines can be made available as multi-color, fully automated systems.

Stand-up model SP 820 has sliding inking system for easy set-up and cleaning, pneumatic controls, enlarged printing surface up to 8.5-in. diam., and two ink systems. Also available is an inkwell and open-well system. A chain that coverts the SP 820 to a four-color pad printer with 42 fixtures for precise repetitive printing is a new option.

Company also offers bench-model silk-screen machines: the Midget 10 for flat printing up to 8 x 8 in., Model CP10/12 for round, oval or cylindrical shapes, as well as thick-film screen printers from semi-automatic tabletop to fully automated systems up to 15 x 15 in.


Offers a full line of pad-printing equipment, ranging from standard to specially designed machines. Company's R&D lab is available to test customers' parts to determine type of pad and inks best suited for them. Other supplies offered for pad printing include inks, pads, cliches, etc.


Manufactures 200 models of screen-printing machinery. Among the most popular machines are container printers, flatbed automatics, cylinder presses, flatbed semi-automatics, manual printers, web presses, and presses for close-tolerance work. Designs and manufactures a full range of silicone rubber dies and rollers, plus total tooling for hot-stamp decorating. Specializes in the design and production of complete tool systems for either new or existing hot-stamp equipment.


Manufactures specialized guns, equipment and chemicals for decorative metallization and EMI shielding. The "Spray Plating" system is designed to give plastic products an appearance similar to vacuum-metallized articles.


A line of semi-automatic vacuum-coating machines is offered with reactor chambers varying in size from 24-in. diam. x 24 in. long to 84-in. diam. x 110 in. long. Machines are designed for production coating of thin-film metallic and nonmetallic sources onto a variety of substrates.

Traditional base/topcoat decorative metallizing with aluminum has begun to be augmented by functional applications such as EMI shielding of plastic electronic enclosures. Other functional applications range from optical coatings on plastic tv-camera lenses to contact metallization on photovoltaic power cells.


Company's rotary screen-printing/coating and rotogravure high-production line systems are used to produce wallcoverings, floor coverings, synthetic leathers, roofing products, tarpaulin, back-lit signs, awnings, decals, labels, decorative packaging, etc. This equipment is capable of handling a wide variety of polymer coatings for paper, fabrics, foils, nonwovens, plastic films and other delicate substrates. A broad range of coating weights are possible from 0.1 to 20 mils in widths ranging from 13 to 180 in. for coating on one side or both sides of a web simultaneously.


Offers conveying and hot-stamping machines to feed parts automatically to a powered conveyor at 30-40/min. Parts are separated and located, hot stamped or heat-transfer decorated, and automatically discharged to the next process. Machine size is 5 ft long x 2 ft wide x 30 in. high.


Company's arc-spray metallizing system can melt and spray nickel, stainless steel, bronze, copper, and other wire. Coatings produced this way reportedly have high bond strength because inter-particle adhesion is high. Metals deposited are said to be resistant to chipping or cracking when machined by conventional methods. Another major application is sprayed-metal mold surfaces.

The spray gun is similar to those used for paint. Wires are fed automatically and, although molten deposits are applied, the substrate reportedly undergoes only a slight rise in temperature. An electric arc melts the ends of two electrically isolated coating wires, and an atomizing air jet blows the fine metal particles onto the surface being decorated. Typical spray rates range from 5 to 150 lb/hr.

Various attachments and auxiliary equipment are available: extensions for spraying internal diameters, spreaders for fanning the spray pattern, constrictors for diameter spray patterns, automated scanners, and fully automated systems.

The arc-spray technique is said to be especially useful in metallizing capacitors and similar electronic system components, in electromagnetic shielding of plastic housings, providing metal coatings on plastics for wear resistance, thermal conductivity, abrasive resistance, and in producing finely detailed molds for plastics.

A leader in transfer pad-printing technology, company is the exclusive distributer of Tampo Print equipment and accessories from Tampoprint GmbH. Crisp images from 0.003-in. diam. to 10 x 30 in. can be effectively reproduced on flat or irregular shaped parts or can be printed 360 degrees around cylindrical parts at speeds exceeding 30,000 prints/hr. Some high-speed models, up to 10,000 cycles/hr, feature closed-ink-cup systems, maintaining ink viscosity at a constant level at all times. A fully automatic ink pump with viscosity control is also available. Wet-on-wet application principal of this process allows printing of an unlimited number of colors as a single operation.

Engineering and fabrication facility provides ability to create turnkey systems incorporating fully automatic feeding loading, ionization, Corona pretreat print, cure and unloading. Company offers a variety of low-cost printing plates that can be processed easily in-house by the customer for small runs of less than 100,000 prints. A complete line of inks, pads, auxiliary equipment and services are available.


Supplies roll-on, vertical, and peripheral hot-stamping presses, foil cutters tooling, mounts, nests, dies (rubber and metal), as well as complete systems. Company develops new systems and updates existing hot-stamp decorating systems.


Offers complete screen- and pad-printing systems for flat and three-dimensional parts. Systems are based uv occuring, and the company offers a full line of support equipment. Supplies include safety products, test equipment, maintenance supplies, adhesives, and instantly cured inks that are scratch- and solvent-resistant. Systems are reported to be non-polluting and energy efficient.

The new compact, portable fiber-optic light delivery systems reportedly peak at the critical uv radiation band that produces successful cures during decoration and assembly of small parts or curing of adhesives for assembly of small parts. The multiple wand uv spot cure system provides connections for additional flexible optic wands to cure up to three separate areas simultaneously without reducing uv intensity.

Also new is a compact air-driven pump tradenamed the Con-Trol-Cure Transfer Pump, used for transporting small amounts of raw materials to application machines. Flow rates of up to 1.8 gal/mn supply flexo, offset, screen, roller coaters and the gravure coating machines.


Offers turnkey pad-transfer printing systems and a complete line of hot-stamping equipment. The Uni-Printer pad printers accommodate up to four-color printing applications with image sizes ranging from 2 x 4 in. through 8 x 22 in.

In addition to the standard hot-stamping equipment offered, the company also manufactures the silicone dies, sheets and rollers, complete nesting fixture systems and automation options for a wide variety of decorating applications.


Company's Unidex hot-stamping machines come in three basic models:

* M-900 for peripheral stamping on round objects from pen barrels to 5-in. diam. parts has 9-in. stroke and 4 x 6 in. platen area.

* CM-911 convertible with 9-in. stroke is capable of stamping round, oval, flat, or contoured shapes.

* C-375 is a convertible unit with 12-in. stroke, platen area of 7 x 12 in., and ability to stamp 360 degrees on cylinders and elliptical shapes in one pass, and two sides of ovals and flats.

Standard equipment on all models is an air-cushion system that adjusts to surface variations. All machines can apply heat transfers. Foils and dies are also supplied.


Offers dry-offset printing equipment for use with infra-red or uv inks for decorating preformed plastic cups, containers, cans, jars, vials, tubes, lids and webs. Speeds for cup printing are up to 450/min, 800/min for lids and 200/min for tubes.

Shrink-sleeve equipment for applying PVC and PS tube labels to dairy, food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products for full-label decorating and tamper-evident sealing applications are also offered.


Makes reciprocal, peripheral, and roll-on hot-stamping equipment. Thirteen reciprocal presses are standard: M1500, 3/4-ton hand operated; A1500, 3/4-ton air-operated; model A1000, 1/2-ton air-operated; models A2000, A4000, A6000, A8000, A10K, 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-ton air-operated; models H10K, H15K, H20K, H24K, 7 1/2- and 12-ton hydraulically operated; and models PH4-5, PH4-20 PH-60, 5- to 60-ton hydraulically operated.

Six peripheral presses are offered: models PRB6, PRB12 and PRB24, four-part diameters from 1/2 to 30 in. Models CD3 and CD5 offer chain drive pallets for high speed and model SR3 is designed to imprint irregular shapes such as square, round, oval or rectangular.

Two conveyor-type, roll-on presses are R8C and R18C with 8 in. and 18 in. roller width capacity. These unit sizes are duplicated for the two reciprocating BGP roll-on moldings, the R8R and R18R. The reciprocating BGP units are hydraulically powered.

Company offers four models of box-motion, roll-on machines with various stroke and roller width capacities. Models BMR3, BMR6, and BMR12 box-motion machines are of C-frame construction and come in a variety of stroke lengths. The Boxer is a large box-motion machine with a 2 in. roller width and 3 amp stroke of 36 to 48 in.

An extrusion roll-on, hot-stamp press, model XR3, is also offered.


A complete line of computerized printers to produce labels or stencils up to 16 in. wide with serial numbers and bar codes is available. CRT-displayed label format, machine-prompted operation, menu selection of functions, and memory retrieval are reportedly easy to use without special training. Also available is disk storage of variable and constant information in any label format.

Manual and electronic label imprinters, applicators and related equipment, pressure-sensitive custom-printed labels, stencils, handprinters, and other labeling supplies are also available.


Company's principal product line is hot-stamp foils, specializing in rotogravure and silk screen printed heat transfers, woodgrains, specialty patterns, and pigments. Company also supplies turnkey hot-stamp systems, foil, and equipment to decorate various types of substrates and configurations.


Manufactures both flexographic and gravure printing presses. The Merkur line of rotogravure machines can print in one to 10 colors, widths of up to 100 in., and repeat ranges from 13 to 75 in.

The five central-impression models that make up the Olympia flexographic line come in widths from 16 to 110 in. with repeat ranges from 11 to 120 in. in 4-, 6- or 8-color versions. Several stack models are available in widths from 16 to 100 in. with repeat ranges from 9 to 70 in. Depending on the particular model, a maximum of four to six colors is carried.

There are four models in the company's line of Alina tail-end printers, available in widths from 9 to 100 in, with repeat range of 9 to 70 in. Models can be supplied with up to eight colors.


Supplies flexographic printing presses and related equipment, including stack-type printing presses, single-impression printing presses, and unwind and rewind units.
