Decision on sports firm.

A company which ran a watersports centre in Stockton has gone into voluntary liquidation.

The decision for Castlegate Quay Heritage Project to go into voluntary liquidation was taken at a meeting of company members on December 20.

It was decided at the meeting that the company, which formed in January 1993 to run a watersports centre at Stockton quayside and activities relating to the Captain Cook replica HM Bark Endeavour, could not "by reason of its liabilities" continue its business.

Harvey Madden, of Taylor Rowlands in Yarm, who has been appointed liquidator, said the company ceased trading on November 1, 2004.
