Decision on manure plans.

A DECISION on plans to use tonnes of cow manure and slurry to produce electricity on farmland in the Vale of Glamorgan will be made later this week.

The scheme by DW Thomas and sons, of Great House Farm, Llanmaes, involves building a biogas plant on agricultural land at Pancross Farm, Llancarfan, which is in the Nant Llancarfan Special Landscape Area and the Llancarfan Landscape of Outstanding Historic Interest.

Councillors were due to visit the site on Thursday before make a decision at a scheduled evening meeting of the council's planning committee.

Residents in the area have written 29 letters of objection.
