December 31 last date for filing Income tax returns :FBR.

ISLAMABAD, December 19, 2009 (Balochistan Times ): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set December 31, the last date for the filling of income Tax returns. A statement of FBR said that there would be no further extension in the due date (December 31) and urged the taxpayers to file their returns within the given data. The FBR said that December 31 is also the last date for filing of income tax returns by the Corporate sector. It asked taxpayers to pay their due taxes and file their returns with taxable true income to avoid any legal action. The FBR statement said that computerized database of FBR has information on every financial transaction conducted by every single citizen. The FBR said that any citizen who has a taxable income but not registered as a taxpayer should also register and get the National Tax Number (NTN). It added that if any citizen is registered taxpayer who has not filed the annual return should file his/her annual return and declare true and full income. Finding out who is flunking tax registration or filing and who is concealing income as a matter of a few clicks, the statement said.
