Decades of success for the 'All Weather Queen' Delyth; turf talk Brian Lee.

SHE was just 16 when a friend took her to a flapping (unlicensed) race meeting and somehow she was persuaded to take part in one of the races, finishing second on a horse called Starlight.

It was to be the start of a long and successful career in horse racing for Delyth Thomas, of Aberkenfig, dubbed the All Weather Queen.

Delyth, who has been involved with horses for more years than she cares to remember, has owned, trained and ridden countless winners under the rules of Arabian horse racing, point-to-point and National Hunt racing.

Her prolific 13-year-old Arabian horse Noble Athlete is a winner of 13 races, six of them at Hereford Racecourse and three other of her Arabian horses to have done her proud this season are Kiraa, Kayclaire and Callymay.

Her most notable win under National Hunt rules was with Am I Blue which romped home an easy winner at Hereford in 2010.
