Storer Communications

WITH ONLY five years' experience as a television journalist, Deborah Robinson is not shortsighted about her ultimate goal. She wants to own a network affiliate television station.

With the success she has had, it would be unwise to bet against her.

She holds three positions on two Storer Communications Inc. cablestations. She's program director for Channel 14. She is also producer and anchor for "Meet the Candidates" and "Special Report," both on Channel 18.

She interviewed more than 100 candidates for "Meet the Candidates" before the November elections. She filed several reports on Bill Clinton's presidential candidacy as the Arkansas correspondent for Black Entertainment Television, a national network.

"I won't put a timetable on |owning her own station~, because I let God direct me in my thoughts and actions," Robinson, 28, says. "If it were my timetable, I'd already have 'Special Reports' syndicated nationally."

In addition to interviews with Clinton, Robinson had an exclusive interview with state Sen. Jerry Jewell after his controversial stint as acting governor.

Even before graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1988 with a B.A. degree in broadcast journalism, Robinson worked part-time with Storer's black access channel.
