Debbie's all set to be a model mum; Couple's baby delight.
FORMER Coventry topless model Debbie Ashby has given birth to a boy.
Debbie, who shot to fame in the 1980s posing topless with her mum for a men's magazine while at King Henry VIII School, had Jamie Ash by Caesarean section on October 18.
"It feels great to be a mum,'' exclaimed Debbie, aged 33.
"We were totally convinced we were going to have a girl. When he was born we said it couldn't be a boy because we hadn't thought of a boy's name.''
Debbie and husband Dave Wookey, who both work for a brewery on the Isle of Man, finally decided on Jamie for their 7lb 3oz bundle of joy.
Ash, the second name, was chosen because it was the nickname given to her father Roger who died of bone cancer just three weeks before their marriage in July last year.
The wedding was brought forward so Dave could see Debbie in her wedding dress. A condition known as PXE has left him blind in one eye and at risk of losing the sight in the other.
It will be some time before the couple learn whether their son is likely to inherit the condition.
"We do not want to think about it,'' said Debbie, who hopes to be back at work at the pub she runs in Douglas in a few weeks. "It just makes you appreciate that he has got 10 little fingers and 10 little toes.''
